Kitchen Banner

I took down all the window treatments by the kitchen table. It looked quite bare. I wanted something smaller and lighter yet full of color. With the all white kitchen finished, it is screaming for color now. I decided on a fabric banner. I traced a circle and folded it in half, sewed the curvy part then turned it right side out. Then, just use double fold bias tape to sew all the scallops together.

Kitchen is FINISHED!!

The paint cans are put away! I am done painting! Hooray!!!! It took me some getting used to – but I really like it – it feels way more open. It is hard to take photos of the kitchen because I am always cooking or cleaning up – so this is as good as it gets for now!

This is how it used to look – everything was red! Wow – it looks different!!

More Paint

I spray painted some hand-me-down chairs and switched them out for my regular kitchen chairs. I love how bright & happy they look.

Kitchen Art from Junk

I needed something different to hang above my stove. It was cold and rainy and I didn’t want to go to the store – so I went shopping in my garage! This is what I came up with:

I bought this board at a garage sale for 50 cents. It was white and dirty. I cleaned it up and painted it aqua. I had some scrapbook paper, glued it on. The cricut was next. I love this font – it is actually Taylor Swift’s signature font! Cute! I found this metal heart in a box of junk. It was dark metal – from the days of rustic, dark metal things! Painted it apple red and epoxied it on! Yea! Happy! I love paint!

The knobs arrived toady – more kitchen

My kitchen knobs arrived today! I am happy to say I did not spend $3+ on each knob. I did my online shopping and found that ebuilderdirect.com had the best price hands down. These satin nickel knobs were $1.20 each and the drawer pulls were $1.50 each – and they arrived in about 3 days! Yea!

So, it’s almost time for pictures of the whole kitchen – we are getting there!!!

Today I have got to finish the painting of the cabinets! I took the rest of them off the hinges carted them outside, sanded them, then I was ready to paint. Only, it started to rain! So, the operation got moved inside. I am happy to say they are all painted!!!
Of course, I could not have done it all without the help of the Bengal cat!!
