Mod Tiles Quilt Pattern

My daughter and I were sitting in a movie theater lobby (this was a long time ago) and I noticed the tile pattern on the floor. I snapped a picture of it and used it as my inspiration for this quilt!

Mod Tiles uses precut 5″ x 5″ squares which means its easy to put together! I love this large border print – it really shows off the mischievous cats.

It’s available in my Etsy Shop in PDF or Paper.

Quilt Size 63 ½” x 75 ½”
5” Precut Square Friendly

Fabric Requirements
90 precut 5”x 5” squares
You will need 30 sets of 3 same fabric 5” squares
3 ½ yards cream Mod Meow border fabric*
⅔ yard binding fabric
4 ¼ yards quilt backing

*if you are not using the Mod Meow border print then use:
1 ½ yards cream background fabric
1 ¾ yards border fabric

After you cut the border print out of the yardage you are left with enough background fabric to make the quilt! I love this low volume print!

I hope you love this quilt! I would love to see all the different color combinations you use! Be sure to tag me on Instagram @jedicraftgirl and use the tag #modtilesquilt.

Mod Lanterns Quilt Pattern

Mod Lanterns is such a fun quilt – it looks more complicated than it really is! It’s made up of 2 fairly simple blocks set on point. This pattern totally reminds me of a mid century outdoor garden party with festive lanterns.

The pattern is available in both PDF and Paper in my Etsy shop. And even better it’s Fat Quarter Friendly!

The fabrics used in the quilt are from Mod Meow. I love the main print on the border!

Mod Meow Fabric

I’m so excited that my newest fabric line with Riley Blake Designs will be hitting stores this month!

Mod Meow was inspired by mid century design and style – which is my most favorite!! I would love to live during that time 🙂

The colors have a retro feel but can easily work into quilts and projects by today’s quilters and sewists. Here is a little peek at some of the projects I created for this line.

Center stage in this fabric are a bunch of totally mod and totally hip black cats.

This fabric line has a border print which I am so thrilled about! It’s perfect for the hem of dresses and skirts, the border of quilts, or the edge of tote bags and pillows!

Also included in Mod Meow is a panel of all the black cats. These are perfect to cut out and appliqué onto anything!! Quilts, pillows, clothes, accessories, and more!

I hope you love these fabrics! I hope they inspire you to make something happy!

RBD Block Challenge

Today begins the first day of the Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge!

Every week one of your favorite RBD designers will post a 10″ block pattern. Make one block a week and then put them together in an amazing sampler quilt!

Today I am sharing my Pinwheel Star block. I used Mod Meow fabrics for this whimsical block. I love chain blocks! You can use this block in the sampler or make an entire quilt out of this block!

You can download my block pattern by clicking HERE.

Make sure to follow Riley Blake Designs so you don’t miss a block! And use the tag #rbdblockchallenge to follow along!!

Season To Taste Blog Tour

I am so thrilled that Jessica Dayon asked me to be part of her blog tour for her brand new book Season to Taste! Jessica is a talented quilt designer – make sure to follow her on Instagram @jessicadayon.

Her book is so lovely! The quilts are made according to each season which I love!

I chose to make some blocks from the Backyard quilt and turn them into a table runner.

I used fabrics from my new fabric line Mod Meow which will be in stores the beginning of February!

I made 3 blocks from the Backyard quilt pattern. All the patterns in the book are easy to follow and well illustrated. The blocks came together super easy!

I wanted to add a little Mod Meow flair to the table runner so I added in a kitty block. Mod Meow has a fun cat panel with 10 cats that you can appliqué onto anything!

I used some simple sashing to put the 4 blocks together – easy peasy!

It’s 100% Mufasa approved 🙂

Be sure to grab a copy of Season to Taste! You will love all the patterns!!! It will keep you sewing all year long!

Mod Meow Sneak Peek

I am super excited to share a sneak peek of my newest fabric line Mod Meow coming out in January 2021! I am participating in Riley Blake’s Virtual Quilt Market since we can’t all be together.

Mod Meow is inspired by mid century colors and style with a contemporary feel for today’s quilter! And of course inspired by life with cats!!

The colors are versatile and can work into any quilt project: gold, aqua, pink, green, teal, and red – all my favorites!

And it gets better! There are 2 border prints which are super fun for tote bags, dress hems, pillows, and fussy cutting!

And even more fun is this cat panel that has each of the funky felines so you can applique them to projects like pillows, bags, wall hangings, and this super fun cat post quilt!!

There are lots of fun new quilt patterns releasing with this fabric line! I can’t wait to make them all!!!

I hope you like this little sneak peek! There will be lots more fun things coming as we get closer to the fall!!
